Background
Here on The Amplified Prep, we believe that “the Good Life” is for everyone! I aim to share a bit about my personal journey into the lifestyle associated with empowered living, through mostly midwestern-centered style, subtle New England flare and classic prep aesthetic. It’s not just about the clothing, it’s about a way of life, and about understanding the ways in which communities were historically marginalized away from them. There is so much history I’ve discovered along the way that once I took a deep dive into, it was not long before I felt right at home. It is my hope that my blog offers some insight to those who may also feel out of place whether that is due to financial circumstances, racial background or otherwise, that we all deserve to share “The good life”. As one of my favorite role models is quoted as saying at the end-tag of my blog, it’s important to make a space for yourself, if you do not feel there is one presently made for you. On The Amplified Prep, that is what we hope to offer, a seat of inclusion at the table of “The Good Life”
I’ve decided to share the outcome with you all in case this inspires anyone’s journey.
Feel free to read more of my story here. Much love. ~Kailyn Ailene

Role Model
I’ve chosen to mold my thoughts after Ms. Diahann Carroll. She knows a thing or two about facing extreme exclusion, and still being absolutely fabulous with or without being offered a seat at the table.
Favorite Pastimes
My favorite past times are at their best in the warmest months, I don’t have a photo of myself playing tennis just yet, but even that is best outdoors. One of my favorite influencer platforms The Feminine Fancy recently challenged her followers to get more actively engaged in passions that they haven’t been, and I genuinely loved that message. It’s easier for me to let my passions hang on the shelf during the academic school year, but I hope to see myself join an indoor rec center, or to play at top golf during the fall, and at least some of the lighter winter days. The barn I currently ride at doesn’t have an indoor arena, so that will just have to wait for the warmer months ALWAYS 😉

I love a good find, Amazon currently has this tennis skirt on sale for $12. Shop my LTK here
I live in a metropolitan area, but am not a far getaway from the beach, thankfully. I love a dose of the coastal life. I have been so inspired by the #coastalgrandmother trend. I am here to say that this is less of a trend and much more of a real life replication. My grandmother dresses like this, and would be tickled if i sent her this look. She has never worn jeans a day in her life. I think someone took a trip to Barbados, Guyana, or somewhere in S. America and decided to make it a trending hashtag.
When I’m not blogging, working, or spending quality time with Marcus, I’m probably planning my next meal ❤ I’m a total foodie, and if it’s not groceries, I love to eat locally when I can!
is JUST the place to do that, I am so fortunate it’s such a quick drive from me. The last time I visited was for my birthday, but this weekend, I found them on Instagram, and instantly followed, and they followed right back! I had to go celebrate the new discovery and friendship with a lobster roll, lol.
I choose to support this business because the drive is unbelievably close, I’m so glad they opened a second location outside of downtown, but also because it is so nice to have a true seafood fresh taste. It’s like having a taste of Lake Erie in landlocked Columbus. Yum! Maryland girl approved! (Maryland girl eating lobster? Yes, I haven’t yet made my way to their blue crab sandwich, but I am sure that will change soon 😉 )
